This policy describes how Brush Buddies (“we”, “us”, the “extension”) handles information when you install and use the Chrome / Brave extension. Brush Buddies is a local reminder tool. It does not provide accounts, cloud sync, or analytics in the extension code.

Short version: Your brush times and preferences stay on your device in browser storage. We do not receive them on our servers. The extension can show your buddy on websites you have open when a reminder is due; it does not read page content.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller for Brush Buddies is the developer named on the Chrome Web Store listing (support email on that listing). For privacy questions, use that support email.

Legal entity / developer name: as shown on the Chrome Web Store listing for Brush Buddies.

2. What we collect and where it lives

Brush Buddies stores the following only on your device using Chrome’s storage API (not website cookies):

We do not collect your name, email, browsing history, page text, passwords, health records, or precise location. We do not sell personal data.

3. What the extension can access (permissions)

4. How we use information

Local data is used only to:

Legal basis (UK / EEA GDPR): performance of the service you asked for by installing the extension, and our legitimate interest in operating a simple local reminder with clear permissions. We do not rely on consent for essential local storage; optional notifications follow your device and in-app settings.

5. Sharing and international transfers

We do not share your reminder data with third parties. Data does not leave your device except as part of normal browser/extension operation (e.g. Chrome syncing extension storage if you have turned on Chrome sync for extensions — that is controlled by Google, not Brush Buddies).

If you open recommended product links on the settings page (when enabled), you leave the extension and visit Amazon. Amazon’s privacy policy and cookies apply there. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases; we do not receive what you bought.

If you use an optional support link (e.g. PayPal), you leave the extension or website and pay through that provider. We do not process or store your payment details; PayPal’s privacy policy applies.

If you send a bug report, we receive the email address and message you submit so we can reply. Reports are emailed to the developer via our hosting provider; we do not use them for marketing.

6. Retention and deletion

Data remains until you change it, clear extension data in your browser, or uninstall Brush Buddies. Uninstalling removes locally stored extension data subject to your browser’s behaviour.

7. Your rights (UK / EEA and similar laws)

Because we do not hold your data on our servers, the main way to access or delete it is on your device: use the extension settings, or remove the extension. You may also contact us via the store support email to ask questions. You can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g. the UK ICO).

8. Children

Brush Buddies is a general reminder tool. It is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in some countries). If you believe a child provided personal data to us (e.g. via email), contact the support email on the store listing.

9. Security

We design the extension to minimise data collection. No system is perfectly secure; keep your device and browser updated.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy. Material changes may also be noted in store release notes.

11. Contact

Support email on the Chrome Web Store listing for Brush Buddies.
